Iyengar Yoga is accessible to anyone to increase suppleness, strength and stamina in the body and mind. It improves posture and concentration and quietens the mind promoting well-being.

Iyengar Yoga technique emphasizes precision and alignment. Quality of movement is prioritized over quantity. Yoga Postures are held for longer than in some other methods, allowing tight muscles to lengthen and relax, and helping to focus awareness.

Yoga Props such as blankets, blocks, chairs, wall ropes and belts are used to improve understanding of poses or to help in case of difficulties. Props especially, provide a very deep therapeutic support to the yoga practice in case of illness, weakness & limitations.

The structured practice is progressive, building a stable foundation before attempting more demanding work. Beginners start with standing yoga poses and are gradually introduced to a fuller range of sitting and reclining yoga postures, forward extensions, inversions, twists, backbends and arm balances.

A balanced practice of each group of yoga postures to develop the body in different yet reciprocal ways and teaching different qualities like grounding, energising, strengthening, stimulating, calming. Classes at all levels devote time to relaxation. Once the body and mind are strong enough to sit or lie for extended periods without distraction, students learn pranayama (yogic breathing).

Variety is another aspect of the Iyengar Yoga. No two yoga classes are the same: teachers select yoga poses from the different groups of poses to emphasize the various aspects of the practice.

Iyengar yoga has been described as meditation in action. Practicing the yoga postures with awareness has an integrating effect and works to harmonize mind and body.

These General Yoga classes are suitable for all levels of yoga experience. Beginners as well as advanced students can benefit from each other’s practice during general classes. Professional teachers will support different levels of students by applying asanas variations, depending on individual capacity. The aim is to encourage every student into the development of one’s own personal practice.


Beginners yoga classes are suitable to anyone, from no yoga experience till one year of regular yoga practice. The use of Iyengar yoga props such as wooden blocks, straps, wall ropes support and bolsters enables individuals at all levels of fitness to begin practicing and understanding yoga. As a beginner you are welcome to attend any of our workshops as they are meant to deepen your individual experience and to provide you with tools required for your self healing process.


In our pregnancy yoga classes we consider this a very special time in a woman’s life. The physical and mental states of a pregnant woman go through extensive changes during her pregnancy time. She experiences shifts in body image due to her hormonal changes. A yoga practice, during this phase of a woman’s life, adjusted to her specific needs, helps the future mother to maintain health and stability in mind and body during her pregnancy and prepares her for delivery. At the same time the mother yoga practice provides a fertile soil for the physical, mental and spiritual growth of the newborn. Although it is recommended for women to begin asanas and pranayama practice before conception, a regular practice during pregnancy, and after delivery will provide sustained benefits. Women can start a mild yoga practice three months after delivery. Pregnancy yoga courses are arranged on demand with a minimum of 3 women.


Children derive enormous benefits from Yoga. Physically, it enhances their flexibility, strength, coordination, and body awareness. In addition, their concentration and sense of calmness and relaxation improves. Doing yoga, children exercise, play, connect more deeply with the inner self, and develop an intimate relationship with the natural world that surrounds them. Yoga brings that marvelous inner light that all children have to the surface. Suitable for children from 6 up to 12 years old. The classes are taught in Dutch but can be translated to English.
